About Me

Hello everyone, my name is Jack Kolsrud. I am right now a college student at the University of Kansas. However, I was born and raised in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have been a sports fan my whole life and decided it would be fun to start a blog. To understand where I am coming from with my blogs I feel it is necessary to tell you my favorite teams and why they are so.

  • NFL: Minnesota Vikings
    • My grandpa has had season tickets to the Vikings since they were founded in 1961. By the mid-90’s, my whole family had season tickets to Viking Games. By 2003, I started going to nearly every Viking home game. The first game I went to was the one when Randy Moss flipped the ball back to Mo Williams against the Broncos. I have been to the AP 296 yard game, the Brett Favre hail mary game, the AP 2000 yard eclipsing game, and the Blair Walsh missed field goal game. The Vikings will always be my #1 team.
  • NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves
    • My first memory of the Wolves is watching the game 7 of the 2004 Western Conference Semifinals versus the Kings. I remember watching Mark Madsen hack-a-shaqing his ass off against the Lakers. Sadly, the Wolves haven’t made the playoffs since. I have seen us take Brandon Roy, only to trade him away. I saw us take Johnny Flynn over Steph Curry 1. And I also felt the sadness when Flip Saunders died in 2015 of cancer 2.
  • MLB: Chicago Cubs
    • I miss the day 3 when you weren’t considered a bandwagon for rooting for the Cubs. I was a “small” Cubs fan when I was a kid. However when my Dad and I went to Wrigley Field when I was 10 years old everything changed. We sat in the left field bleachers and at one point Alfonso Soriano threw me a ball 4. Derrick Lee hit a game winning homerun in the 8th inning and I have been a huge fan ever since. The Cubs World Series in 2016 is the only championship I have ever had in my lifetime.
  • NCAAB: Kansas Jayhawks
    • Kansas has been ranked a 1 seed in the tournament every year I have been enrolled there 5 only to see them get crushed in the Elite Eight game. My claim to fame is that I took a finance class with Josh Jackson and Malik Newman.
  • NCAAF: Kansas & Iowa
    • Kansas is absolute trash at football so it is hard to watch their games 6. The reason I am an Iowa fan is that my Dad went there. As a kid they were probably my favorite team. I still watch them a lot and root for them to win.
  • NHL: Minnesota Wild
    • I will jump on the bandwagon when they make the playoffs 7. Besides that I could care less how they do.

There you have it. This is a rundown of my favorite teams and why they are that. I will change the list accordingly when I find a new team to root for 8. So that is a little about me to help you understand my positions and fandom on things.
